PREVENTION

Prevention programs in the Northeast District promote a positive action or behavior with teens and youth.

Power of Ten, representing our ten counties, are teens in a school club or community group who provide peer education to youth, participate in merchant compliance checks, or create community events to make everyone aware of tobacco industry tactics to entice youth into starting tobacco use.

Enforcement programs try to ensure that merchants and clerks are not selling tobacco products to minors.

School Policy programs provide education and awareness about tobacco-free campus policy, enforcement, prevention education and teen cessation utilizing the PA 100% Tobacco Free Schools Toolkit.
